World Of Outlaws To Face Off Against Hell Tour Friday Night

Terre Haute Action Track To See Best Of Late Model & Modified Racing

(Terre Haute, IN) It’s already been a busy season at the Terre Haute Action Track and that will continue this coming Friday, June 29 with one of the biggest events of the year.  The World Of Outlaw Craftsman Late Models will face off against the Summer National Hell Tour Late Models.  The two tours will go head-to-head with the winner taking home a cool $10,000 top prize.  The Scott’s Custom Colors Modifieds will run with the Summit National Modifieds to complete the evening.

For the Action Track, it will be the fourth event of the season as fans have seen a vast array of different types of vehicles so far.  It all started in April, when the Sumar Classic had a full field of USAC Silver Crown cars.  Then in May, the popular Tony Hulman Classic hosted the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint cars.  Then, this past Saturday night, two wheel racing was held in Terre Haute for the first time since 2005, when the AMA All-Star National Flat Track tour was on hand.  The crowds have been strong and the racing has been exciting at each of the events, but this Friday’s event could arguably be the biggest so far.

The Summer Nationals Hell Tour is in the middle of a month long stretch that has nearly 30 events in just over 30 days.  It’s a grueling series where only the best can survive for wins and especially the championship.  For the World Of Outlaw Craftsman Late Models, 60 events made up the 2018 schedule, beginning in February and ending in November.  Between the two series, a strong field of Late Model competitors are expected to compete at one of the fastest tracks on the tours.

When it comes to Modified action, a big field should be on hand Friday night.  The Scott’s Custom Colors Modifieds always draw good fields with some of the top drivers in DIRTcar National points.  This Friday’s show will definitely see some of the best as it’s a Summit National Modified event.  Much like the Summer Nationals for the Late Models, the Summit National schedule is grueling with in upwards of 30 events in just over 30 days.

The rare combo event was scheduled to happen for the first time a year ago but rain thwarted that effort.  It’s the type of event that’s only happened once and that was a year ago at Federated Auto Parts Speedway in Pevely, MO.  Much like last year, both tours will travel to Missouri on Saturday, after completing the Terre Haute event.

Pit gates will open this Friday afternoon 3:00, grandstands at 5:00, hotlaps will start at 7:00, and racing will begin at 8:00.  Grandstand admission will be $30, infield admission $15, and children 11 and under are free.
