Schrader Claims Modified Feature Win On Final Night At The Action Track

(Terre Haute, IN) The Scott’s Custom Colors UMP Modifieds were in action for a final time in 2017 on Saturday, October 14 at the Terre Haute Action.  A strong field of 20 cars were pitside.  At the end of the night, it was a familiar face in victory lane.

Following qualifying, Fenton, MO’s Ken Schrader and Dustin Beck, of Petersburg, IN were the fastest qualifiers in their respective groups, putting them up front in their heats.  Heat one saw Schrader take the victory, with Richie Lex coming from eight to finish second.  In the second heat, Beck was followed by Curt Rhodes, setting up the first two rows for the feature event.

When the A-Main took the green, it was the retired NASCAR driver, Ken Schrader jumping out front to set the pace early with Beck in the second spot.  Lex, who started in the third spot, ran in that position for several laps before taking the position from Beck.

Down the stretch, Schrader continued to hold command, though Lex was turning identical lap times over the last few laps.  At the checkered, it was Schrader claiming the victory in his Federated Auto Parts #9.  Lex, Beck, Rhodes, and Broc Burton completed the top five.  Kenny Carmichael, Sr., Dave Baldwin, Josh Carmichael, Brent Hudson, and Michael Fish were top ten finishers.
